Marc Beja at the The Chronicle of Higher Education: The Wired Campus is reporting that Berkley is set to build an open source platform specifically for hosting and distributing lectures online. The project, called “Opencast Matterhorn” will be funded by the William and Flora Hewlett and Andrew Mellon foundations with a total of $1.5 million. The Product Manger for Opencast Matterhorn is quoted in the post indicating:
